What is your stance on homosexuality? Particularly what do you think about Christian homosexuality?

This is such a big question.

Let’s start with my view of Christianity; without understanding Christianity the way I do, you will not understand my aproach to homosecuality, or sin in general.

"For all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God," Romans 3:23. Romans 3:23 is very clear that all men are fallen, broken, and sinful, right? So if we are all sinful that levels the playing field right. I am just a guilty as Hitler: just guilty of a different crime. We are all on the same level. This is sad. If this was all Romans 3 said, I would not even be writing this because their would be no point to Christian faith. But "This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe” (Romans 3:22): already getting better. All who believe are saved by this grace! “There is no difference between Jew and Gentile” (Romans 3:22), oh there is no difference between me and other sinners? “and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:24). We are all forgiven. No matter what our sin is. We are all forgiven. All of us are forgiven. All. of. us.

Now that you understand my position there, let’s look at homosexuality in general. Being gay is not a sin. Just being attracted to men, or woman, as a man, or woman, is not sinful. Acting on that lust is sinful. Letting that attraction become lust, is sinful. Homosexaulity does not end in marriage as heterosexual marriage does. Heterosexual marriage is two people who are joined into one person. Homosexuality cannot end that way because God designed man to love woman, even on an anatomical level. This is a hard truth for me to swallow. I can never marry. I will have to be single the rest of my life; I can never have a child that is mine.

As for Christian homosexuals, we are forgiven. My sexual relations, my lust, my mistakes, are forgiven. I do not get to continue to do those things, but just like a forgiven heterosexual not in a marriage relationship, I am forgiven, but I also have to give those things up.

Look, homosexuality is biblically a sin, but it is not biblically singled out, it is the same penalty as all other sin. I am forgiven, and so is everyone. But do you accept this forgiveness.

Grace and peace, Josh.
